Gucci reopens Sydney flagship after stunning makeover

Gucci has unveiled the new look of its flagship store in Westfield Sydney after an extensive refurbishment.

Spanning two stories, the store has expanded its retail footprint to more than 1087sqm, offering a wide selection of apparel, handbags, shoes, accessories, jewellery, eyewear, beauty products and fragrances. The store also features the limited-edition Sydney tote, identified by a signature leather patch that represents the city in embossed metallic gold lettering.

“Australia has always been a strategic market for Gucci,” said Emmanuel Delrieu, regional president at Gucci South Asia Pacific. “The country offers our brand a very exciting proposition supported by its melting pot of cultures.”

The store interior design features a contemporary luxury style with soft elements like velvet armchairs and vintage dark wood display furniture offsetting harder surfaces and industrial elements, such as rivets. 

The Gucci Sydney flagship also houses a ‘bespoke client space’ created for exclusive shopping experience and accessed by a private entrance. The room is designed with mauve velvet upholstered walls and artisanal hand-painted herringbone wooden floor.

In celebration of the reopening, Gucci has collaborated with local artist Edward Woodley to showcase his work at the flagship store. The sculptural work, called Edward Woodley for Gucci, combines his signature style and elements borrowed from the world of the House and the codes of its Epilogue collection – including Ken Scott’s archival prints Istric and Lulude.
